FCA Sports Program Director (Clubs or Leagues)
Do you love the energy of sports and
the eternal impact of ministry?
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Battlefield Area is seeking high-capacity leaders to serve as FCA Sports Program Directors as we launch new Club and League ministries in our region.
This is ground-floor leadership.
We are not maintaining an established system. We are building it.
This role is for someone who thrives in start-up environments — someone who can help design systems, organize moving parts, develop leaders, and build a Christ-centered culture from day one.
Program Directors report directly to the Director of Clubs or Director of Leagues, depending on ministry focus.
What You’ll Be Building
You will help create sports environments where:
- Coaches are discipled and developed as spiritual leaders
- Athletes grow in both skill and Christlike character
- Families experience authentic Christian community
- Systems are built with excellence and sustainability
- Every detail supports long-term ministry impact
When you launch something well, you shape its culture for years to come.
Core Responsibilities
Ministry Leadership
- Integrate FCA’s E3 strategy (Engage, Equip, Empower) into practices, games, and team rhythms
- Help establish Huddles, devotionals, and discipleship rhythms from the beginning
- Develop coaches as spiritual leaders
- Build a culture rooted in biblical community (Acts 2:42–47)
- Help connect athletes and families to local churches
- You will help set the spiritual DNA of the ministry.
Operational Excellence
- Launching requires structure.
- This role requires someone who thrives in complexity and detail.
- Build and manage seasonal calendars (tryouts, practices, competitions, camps)
- Implement and oversee Sports Management Systems and ministry platforms
- Coordinate facilities, uniforms, equipment, and logistics
- Ensure compliance, certifications, and onboarding standards
- Establish strong communication systems with families and coaches
- Help develop repeatable processes that allow the ministry to scale
There will be many moving parts. You will help bring order, clarity, and momentum.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Recruit, onboard, and train coaches and volunteers
- Develop assistant coaches into future leaders
- Build a leadership bench for sustainability
- Cultivate a strong, unified team culture
In a launch season, the leaders you recruit early matter deeply.
Donor & Financial Advancement
- Build and steward a personal ministry support team (AMP/RFP model)
- Communicate vision and impact to donors
- Assist in establishing annual budgets and financial systems
- Identify sponsorship and fundraising opportunities
Sustainable ministry requires strong stewardship from the beginning.
Who This Role Is Not For?
This position is not for someone looking for:
- A low-responsibility role with clearly defined, unchanging systems
- A predictable 9–5 environment with minimal moving parts
- A maintenance role where everything is already built
- A position focused only on coaching or only on administration
- A job disconnected from spiritual leadership
- This is not a “clock in, clock out” position.
We are launching something new. That means:
- Systems will need to be created.
- Processes will need to be improved.
- Problems will need to be solved.
- Leaders will need to be developed.
- Faith will need to be exercised.
If you are uncomfortable with ambiguity, reluctant to build from scratch, or unwilling to take ownership beyond your job description, this role will likely feel overwhelming.
Who Will Thrive in a Sports Launch Environment?
This role is for someone who:
- Is energized by building from the ground up
- Is highly organized and detail-oriented
- Takes initiative rather than waiting for instruction
- Can create systems where none yet exist
- Is comfortable making decisions in dynamic environments
- Notices details others miss
- Loves both spreadsheets and Scripture
- Is willing to raise financial support as part of ministry calling
- Sees sports as a powerful discipleship platform
If you enjoy turning vision into structure, ideas into systems, and prayer into action, plus you feel your heart beating faster — this may be exactly where you belong.
Why FCA Sports?
Because sports shape culture.
- They shape discipline.
- They shape identity.
- They shape the next generation of leaders.
And when launched intentionally, they become discipleship environments — not just competition environments.
This is an opportunity to help build something from the foundation up — setting the culture, the standards, and the spiritual DNA for years to come.
You won’t inherit a finished product. You’ll help create it.
This Is a Calling
If you:
- Want to pioneer something meaningful
- Believe excellence honors God
