Battlefield FCA  Internship

Don’t Just Spend Your Summer. Be Developed. Be Discipled. Be Sent.

  • This is not a marketing internship.
  • This is not a resume builder.
  • This is not a casual summer job.

This is a leadership and ministry development experience for college students who want to be stretched, discipled, and trained in real ministry.

If you want comfort, this isn’t for you. If you want growth, keep reading.

What is the FCA Internship?

The Battlefield FCA Internship is an immersive summer experience designed to help you:

  • Grow deep in your walk with Christ
  • Clarify your calling
  • Develop as a leader
  • Experience real ministry
  • Learn what FCA staff life actually looks like

You won’t just “help out.”

You will be discipled, coached, challenged, and developed.

You are not here to fill a gap. You are here to be formed.

What will I experience with the FCA Internship?

REAL DISCIPLESHIP

Our #1 goal is your spiritual growth. You will:

  • Be in weekly discipleship
  • Have 1-on-1 coaching
  • Build daily spiritual rhythms
  • Be held accountable
  • Learn how to disciple others

If you leave this internship closer to Jesus and equipped to lead others, it’s a win.

REAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

You won’t carry clipboards. You will:

  • Learn to lead events and ministry environments
  • Develop time management and discipline
  • Receive training from staff and board leaders
  • Be coached weekly
  • Be given responsibility - not busy work

We treat interns like developing staff.

REAL FUNDRAISING EXPERIENCE

If you are exploring ministry, you must experience support raising. You will:

  • Attend Local Fundraising Bootcamp
  • Build a partner list
  • Make real asks
  • Learn donor care
  • Raise your summer support

This will stretch you. It will grow your faith.

It will develop your confidence.

REAL MINISTRY

You will serve in:

  • Power Camps
  • Competitors Camp
  • Volunteer engagement
  • Donor communication
  • Event execution

If schools are still in:

  • Campus outreach
  • Huddle development

You will see both the spiritual and operational side of ministry.

WHAT THIS IS NOT

This is not:

  • A flexible side gig
  • A low-commitment experience
  • A summer to “figure things out casually”
  • A platform for self-promotion

This is structured. This is immersive. This requires ownership.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

You may be a strong fit if:

  • You love Jesus and want to grow
  • You are a college athlete (preferred, not required)
  • You are disciplined and self-motivated
  • You are teachable and coachable
  • You want to explore vocational ministry
  • You are willing to raise support
  • You can commit fully to the experience

We are looking for leaders — not spectators.

WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY

This is not for you if:

  • You avoid accountability
  • You struggle with follow-through
  • You don’t want to fundraise
  • You are just looking to add something to your resume
  • You want something easy

We are not building interns. We are building leaders.

WHAT YOU WALK AWAY WITH

At the end of the summer, you will have:

  • A stronger spiritual foundation
  • Clearer calling
  • Leadership confidence
  • Ministry experience
  • A deeper understanding of how FCA works
  • Lifelong relationships

Some interns return as staff. Some start ministry on their campuses.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is this a paid internship?

Interns raise their own summer support and may receive a modest stipend for living expenses. This is not an hourly job — it’s a ministry development experience.

If you’re exploring ministry, learning how to build a support team is part of the training.

How much time does this require?

This is a full-summer commitment. You should treat this as your primary focus. This is not designed to be combined with another full-time job.

Do I have to raise support?

Yes.

You will attend a local Fundraising Bootcamp and be coached through the entire process. You won’t do it alone — but you will be expected to lead it.

If fundraising feels uncomfortable, that’s okay. Growth often does.

Do I have to be a college athlete?

No - it is prefered and it helps.

We are looking for leaders who understand the sports environment and have a heart to reach coaches and athletes.

What does a typical week look like?

Expect:

  • Daily personal spiritual growth
  • Weekly team meetings
  • Weekly one-on-one coaching
  • Leadership development training
  • Donor outreach
  • Ministry planning and execution
  • Camps and outreach events

It’s structured. It’s intentional. It’s immersive.

What happens after the internship?

Some interns return. Some step toward FCA staff. Some launch ministry on their campus. Some step into the marketplace stronger and clearer in their calling.

Our goal is not to keep you - Our goal is to develop you.

To get started follow the instructions on the form above.
